Our Mission
"following Christ. Loving others.
Serving Both."

We are a local Bible-believing, Bible-preaching, and Bible-practicing church. Our mission is to follow Christ, love others, and serve both.

Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe in the verbal inspiration and preservation of the Scriptures. The Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Greek Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are the original language texts we use, and from which the King James Version of the Bible was translated.

We believe that the Bible is the final authority on all matters of faith and practice. It reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God’s plan and purpose in the ages. From its pages, we receive our standard for living.

Godhead

We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons — God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, co-eternal, identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity, virgin birth, and bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is God with us and the only way to forgiveness of sin and eternal life.

Salvation

We believe that salvation is “by grace” plus nothing and minus nothing. The condition to salvation is “repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.” We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Justification is an eternal relationship that can never be broken.

Christian Living

We believe the Christian life is one of growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ as we walk in His steps and become more like Him. Holiness is Christ-likeness through separation unto God from the philosophies, values, and practices of fallen (sinful) men.

The Church

Every Christian is to be an active member of an autonomous, local New Testament Church. As an Independent Baptist Church, we observe baptism by immersion and the Lord’s supper as an act of worship and remembrance of our Saviour’s sacrifice for our sins. We are active in our community in sharing the gospel and serving others.

Second Coming

We believe in the imminent, visible, personal, pretribulation, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ.

Eternity

We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in Heaven and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in Hell.

Our Pastor

Pastor King was saved at the age of five and was reared in a Christian home in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. He was blessed to learn great Bible truths and hear tremendous Bible preaching while growing up in Cleveland Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. Roy Thompson. Pastor King also greatly benefited by regularly attending Sword of the Lord conferences and youth weeks at the Bill Rice Ranch. He graduated from Midwestern Baptist College in 1972 where he was blessed by the ministry of Dr. Tom Malone. He has pastored in Ohio, Indiana, and Georgia. He married Gloria Bennett in 1970 while he was still in college. Gloria was saved in Ionia, Michigan through the bus ministry of Temple Baptist Church and Dr. Golden Blount. They are blessed with three children, twelve grand children, and two great-grandchildren. Pastor King’s life verse and philosophy of life is found in Proverbs 28:20, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings.”
